Pink or Blue?

We had an ultrasound on Monday, August 31st and the tech asked if we wanted to know what the sex of the baby was. Of course, as everyone knows it's the most anticipated ultrasound any parent could ask for.
First and foremost, the baby was healthy and moving around like a champ... She then pointed out some extra parts on the baby that makes the baby A BOY!!!!!
As we are very thrilled, it has finally sunk in that we now have a girl( princess) and a boy (our new prince). Mike is a little worried as we have alot of pink..Everywhere we look in our house, there are pink castles, pink toys, dolls, pink, pink, pink.
It is very exciting for us as this will be the final addition to our family. We decided after two, we would be done no matter what the sex of our second was going to be. It just works out that we have one of each now. However, Happy and Healthy kids are our main goal and focus in life.
I have concerns about Chloe and how she is going to handle the change of having a baby " broder" in the house, but as time goes on and all of the reassurance of us telling her that she is still our first baby, and that we love her the same, if not more, I think she will be fine. She is very much attached to my hip as I am attached to hers, I think this will be good for both of us and it will make us learn to appreciate each other better. I have her with me literally 24/7 and sometimes I forget just how lucky I am to have the chance to be with her every day, teaching her everything that she has learned so far.
She desperately wants to paint Baby "Efans" room purple, so we are going to have to negotaite a blue-ish/purple color for his room.
As soon as I make a copy of the ultrasound, I will be sure to add some pictures on here for everyones viewing.

Chloe turns 2!!!!!!!!!!!

The day has come and gone! It went as fast as I had dredded it to happen.
We had a party for little Miss Chloe on Saturday and she made out like a bandit with all the gifts. We had a wonderful time celebrating our little baby turning 2 and took advantage of showing everyone our new home.
As the day approached, Mike and I had talked about trying again, for the second time, taking away her "nukers" as she calls it when she turned 2. As I was dredding putting her to bed, I am laying with her and as she whined only for a brief minute or two, telling me to find the lost Nukers, I look in her eyes and I find myself in complete disbelief that my little baby is 2 AND going to bed like a big girl. As I lay there, I start to cry as we are looking into each others eyes, I try hard to hide the (good) tears, she points to my eye and says " Mommy, more water". I was absolutely amazed and cried even harder.
How in the world is it possible to love such a little human being as much as Mike and I love Chloe? I never really understood the feeling until the day Chloe was born. It truly is something that you have to experience first hand to know the feeling of the meaning of 100% unconditional love.
Happy Birthday Chloe! I love you with all of my heart!

We are all settled in!

At last, it's been almost 3 weeks and we are finally all settled in. We have been unpacked for about 2 weeks, but with all the final touches, it feels like our home now.
Chloe has been nothing but AMAZING with the move and I couldn't have asked for a smoother transition. The first couple of nights she asked if I would lay with her, and of course, she didn't have to twist my arm to have cuddle time with her.
She loves her new room along with her big girl bed. She plays in her room all by herself, all the time. It makes me very happy, but it reminds me that as she is approaching 2, she is going to want to play by herself more and more. Soon, she will be shutting the door and begging for me to leave her alone.
I just can't believe that in less then a week, my little girl is going to be 2 years old.
In the 2 years ( yes, I am going to be a bragging mom) she has learned her ABC's ( skippin out on L,M,N,O,P and just saying "mmnmnmop"), she counts to 11, sings Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, has a wonderful vocabulary and last but not least, she is mostly potty trained with accidents few and far between. I am so proud of her and am honored to call her my daughter.

In the midst of the move, we went to a prenatal appointment and set up an ultrasound for August 31st to find out the sex of the baby. All bets are being placed as it being a boy which would be a wonderful thing. Ultimately, a happy and healthy baby is what matters the most. I will be sure to post what we are having when the time comes.

Other then that, we are just adjusting to our new home and enjoying what comes along with it.
The pregnancy is going perfectly.. I have only gained 6 pounds so far which is a lot better then the 70 that I gained with Chloe... The only bad thing with this pregnancy is that I am no longer able to sleep in our bed. For some reason, it's the most uncomfortable place to sleep these days. I have been sleeping on our couch and wake up every morning with a sore neck and back pain. The couch is the lesser of two evils so I am going to take what I can get at this point. At least I am sleeping.....

Changes are happening in The Choat's house

It's official, we have been to our first prenatal appointment and have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. The due date as of right now is January 18, 2010.
There are so many feelings going on right now. It has seemed unreal that we are expecting a baby because I haven't been sick, and other then my growing ( once was) waistline, I have had no other symptoms of being pregnant.
Yesterday, on our way to the prenatal appointment, I started to cry as I was overwhelmed with emotions and how this will effect Chloe. I have heard that this feeling is very, very common and I find much relief in knowing I am not the only mom to worry about this. Chloe is my sidekick and she never leaves my side, which of course has it's pro's and con's. I think and know that with adding a little brother or sister, it will be adding to Chloe's life as opposed to taking away from her.
On the brighter side, we are so excited to have a new little baby to add to our family. Looking back at pictures of Chloe, it seems like just yesterday that she was born and we get to go through that all over again.

Mid-July to late July, we are moving into a duplex in Orono, MN. We couldn't be more thrilled and look forward to getting the heck outta the apartment. As much as I love Chanhassen, it is getting very busy and with having Chloe running around, we look forward to a more quiet, secluded area. Not to mention, going back to my home town. I went to Orono schools until I was in 7th grade, so I know the area very well.

The summer will be very busy, but it will be so exciting!!!!

Exciting changes!

Over Mother's Day weekend we found out that Chloe is going to be a BIG sister in January. We couldn't be more thrilled to be adding to our family.
I am so thrilled that not only do I get to experience pregnancy again, but that we get to share it with Chloe this time around.

Our little Genious!

In the past two weeks, Chloe has seemed to amazed Mike and Me more and more everyday.
First it started off with Chloe being able to correctly identify the numbers 0-9.Then she knew how to put them in the correct spot in the puzzle.
Chloe's vocabulary is growing with and every day ( as well as her temper). I can actually hold a conversation (short and sweet one on that matter) with her and quickly learned that there is absolutely NO reasoning or compromissing with a 20 month old.
The first nice day of Spring, Chloe was beyond happy to be outta the house and be playing outside, so much that in the first couple hours of being "free", she managed to scrape up both of her knee's, get a splinter on the bottom of her foot, as well as having a blister on both feet. She loves to play at the park and now thinks that she is so cool because she goes down the slide all by herself.
The only way to get her to leave the park willingly is to bribe her with a ride around in daddy's mini cooper with the top down. If the weather is a little bit chilly, Mike or I will reach back to touch her hands to see if she is cold, she snaps her hand back and says " I FIIIIINNNNE" then proceeds to have the biggest smile on her face the whole ride through.
Chloe LOVES to play with her Uncle "BoBo" ( Kristopher), Her Gomma, Aunt Tawa(Tara), Grady, Hailey, Bella and who ever she manages to charm at the park.
Mike and I bought a pass to the MN zoo and are looking forward to teaching Chloe about all the animals...... She is like a little sponge, ready to take in more information.
Stay Tuned for the latest on our family!!!

Our sweet little Chloe

Chloe turned 19 months on St.Patricks day and she is the twinkle of our eye.
This week she has made both Mike and I so proud of the little girl that she is becoming. She went Potty on the big girl potty and keeps talking more and more and putting 3 word sentances together. She is so fun at this age and we look forward to having the opportunity to share with all of our close family and friends the fun things that she does, says, and goes through...
